The Fair Use Webinar

As a service to our clients, the firm has developed a series of video webinars discussing the vitally important doctrine of fair use. See side-bar, at left. Fair use is powerful doctrine that allows, under certain circumstances, the use and exploitation of others' copyrighted material without having to pay licensing fees to the original owner.

Although the Fair Use Webinar focuses on documentary film, these basic principles apply to the fair use of any media: fiction film, books, magazines, music recordings, photographs, drawing, sculpture, or other kinds of artwork.
